Coming Up ...

  • Ryan Bingham May 30. New Mexico born singer-songwriter Ryan Bingham is an acclaimed Grammy, Oscar, and Golden Globe winning musician (and notably, a former rodeo circuit rider). In 2009, Bingham wrote and performed the theme song "The Weary Kind" for the film Crazy Heart starring Jeff Bridges. The track was produced by Grammy-winning producer T Bone Burnett and earned Bingham an Academy Award, Golden Globe Award, and Critics' Choice Award for "Best Song" in 2010, as well as a Grammy Award for "Best Song Written for a Motion Picture" in 2011.

In 2010, Bingham was named the Americana Music Association's Artist of the Year and also released his critically acclaimed third studio album Junky Star on Lost Highway Records. The album, Bingham's highest charting and most successful release to date, debuted in the Top 10 on the Billboard Rock Album Chart and Top 20 on the Billboard 200 Chart. Fresh off the first leg of last Fall's US tour, which included multiple sold-out dates, this tour will continue to support Bingham's acclaimed fourth studio album, Tomorrowland, which was released last September through his own label Axster Bingham Records.

  • We have the annual return of the Mighty King of Love, Phil Lee, for a house party June 16. Phil is touring behind his newly released cd, The Fall and Further Decline of the Mighty King of Love. Everyone is welcome! If you are interested in attending, please email us or call 868-0997.

  • Next, on Friday, June 28, former leader of cult hero band, BR549, Chuck Mead, with his band the Grassy Knoll Boys (in complete opposition to the Soggy Bottom Boys), will be making their Great Falls debut.

  • Friday, July 12 brings John Nemeth and his amazing blend of blues and soul. Rootboy Productions presented John and his band back in July of 2011 and they were a highlight of the year for us.

  • Five days later, Wednesday July 17, Peter Karp and Sue Foley, who opened last years RootsFest, are back. So much fun, we had to get them back for an encore.

  • Speaking of encores, last October's blues show with Mississippi Heat (Chicago) was so well received, we have them back on Wednesday, August 14.

  • RootsFest 2013 at Forde Nursery (Friday, August 23) features Chuck Prophet and the Mission Express from San Francisco. Opening the event will be Jeanne Jolly (Raleigh, NC)
